At the invitation of Professors Yang Yongchun and Wang Meimei from the Key Laboratory of Western China’s Environmental Systems, College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Associate Professor Xi Guangliang from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Nanjing University will come to our school for a visit and exchange on April 7, 2023, and give an academic report. Speaker profile:
Xi Guangliang, associate professor/distinguished researcher of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Nanjing University, visiting scholar of the University of Minnesota in the United States, concurrently serves as the Deputy Secretary General of the Urban Geography Professional Committee of the Geographical Society of China, a member of the Behavioral Geography Professional Committee, a member of the Urban Big Data Special Committee of the China Urban Science Research Association, and a young editorial board member of Economic Geography. The main research directions are digitization and urban regional development, urban geography, and territorial spatial planning. Hosted more than 10 projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation's general program and the Youth Fund program. I have published more than 60 papers and three works (one single work) in Chinese and English journals such as Transportation Research Part A, Cities, Geographic Research, Geographic Science, and Urban Planning. It has successively won the Excellent Master’s thesis Award of Jiangsu Province in 2010, the Excellent Thesis Award of China's Urban Planning in 2016 and 2018, the Special Prize of China's Geographic Information Technology Progress in 2018, the 8th Outstanding Achievement Award of Scientific Research in Colleges and Universities, the 12th Qian Xuesen Gold Award for City Studies and other awards.
