Professor Liu Hui's Academic Lecture on May 16th

At the invitation of Professor Nan Zhongren, Professor Wang Shengli and Associate Professor Hu Yahu, College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Professor Liu Hui from the School of Environmental Studies and the State Key Laboratory of Biogeology and Environmental Geology of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) visited Lanzhou University on May 16th and delivered an academic report.

Liu Hui is a professor at the School of Environmental Studies, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and a permanent researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Biogeology and Environmental Geology. She is the winner of New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education, Outstanding Youth of Hubei Province, the backbone member of the national innovation group "Environmental Hydrogeology" and the provincial innovation group "Groundwater Pollution and Repair in Jianghan Plain". She mainly engaged in environmental chemical biology and contaminated site remediation research. She received her PhD in Environmental Science from Wuhan University in 2004 and spent one year in the Department of Municipal and Environmental Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh during 2007-2008. She has presided over the key, general and youth projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, focusing on the research on the migration and transformation of organic pollutants in the underground environment and the new mechanism of iron cycling in key belts of the earth and their environmental effects. She presided over the special project of national international science and technology cooperation and developed the new technology of microbial-oil crop collaborative remediation and biodiesel co-production in oil-contaminated sites, and carried out the engineering application. Her achievements won the second prize of the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. She has presided over or cooperated with the Ministry of Land and Resources and Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology to complete a number of pollution investigations, assessments and new technology research and development projects. She has published more than 100 papers in journals at home and abroad, such as GCAApplied Catalysis B: EnvironmentalScience of Total Environment, and authorized more than 20 invention projects.
