Associate Professor Yan Kai’s Academic Lecture on April 30th

At the invitation of Professor Wu Xiaodan and Professor Ma Xuanlong from the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Associate Professor Yan Kai from the School of Land Science and Technology, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), came for an academic visit and exchange to our university on April 30th and delivered an academic report.

Lecturer profile

Kai Yan,associate professor and master’s supervisor,works in the School of Land Science and Technology, China University of Geosciences (Beijing). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Surveying and Mapping Engineering, a Doctor of Science degree in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems. He was funded by the state to study in Professor Ranga Myneni's research group at Boston University for two years. His main research interests include the construction and analysis of quantitative remote sensing models and the vegetation-climate response based on remote sensing products. He was an important member of the algorithm research and development and operational production team of MODIS and VIIRS global leaf area index (LAI) products, and the products he was responsible for became one of the most internationally recognized remote sensing products. He has published more than 40 scientific and technological papers in both Chinese and English, and his papers have been cited more than 660 times. He published a remote sensing cloud computing textbook and 4 invention patents and more than 20 software copyrights. Email: kaiyan@cugb.edu.cn
