Lecturer profile:
Jiang Tong, Second Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor, Nanjing University of Information Engineering. His research and teaching primarily focus on the impacts of climate change, risks and adaptation, as well as the development pathways of climate resilience. He holds the esteemed position of the lead author (LA) for Chapter 3 on Freshwater Resources in the IPCC AR5 WGII report and serves as an editorial reviewer (RE) on Cross-sectoral and Regional Key Risks in the IPCC AR6 WGII report. He is the Executive Director of the Institute for Climate and Environmental Governance, Director of the Future Earth Initiative Disaster Risk Management Institute, and formerly Dean of the School of Geosciences. He is currently a member of the Future Earth Initiative China Committee, a member of the Future Earth Initiative MARS Program Scientific Committee, and an Associate Editor for the international journals Atmospheric Research and Climate Service. He has published more than 300 papers in Nature Communications, PNAS, BAMS, ESSD, and Science China, and more than 20 monographs (chapters). He has received 5 science and scientific awards from Jiangsu Province, Hubei Province, and Xinjiang Autonomous Region as the first author, and 4 awards from the Ministry of Water Resources, Jiangsu Province, and Chinese Academy of Sciences as the main backbone.
